Domestic wood
Whenever possible, we use wood from the Saanenland.
We even own our own forest. We cut trees every two years, the wood of which goes directly into the construction of new chalets. This has a threefold positive impact: the forest is cared for and remains healthy; a healthy forest serves as a massive CO2 reservoir; and chalets made of wood serve as CO2 reservoirs as well.
Sustainable Production
Building with wood has therefore a very direct, positive impact on the climate – without much of an effort. In addition, the electricity for our machines is generated by our own 70 kW photovoltaic system. And finally, we heat with our woodchip heating system, using our waste wood, thus keeping the transport distance for our heating material very short.
Our wood is an ecologically valuable, renewable energy source.
